Joyful Noise
My friend David had this idea to make a Joyful Noise at the beach. He encouraged people to bring whatever instrument they could find. There were about 8 guitars, a ukulele, various percussion instruments, two harmonicas, a guy playing sandpaper blocks, people jingling their keys, and Scottie even brought a shofar! I'm not very good at guessing numbers, but I think there were probably around 70-80 people there. David had thought 15 or 20 would show up.
We hung for a while goofing around with the instruments, surfing, eating, and doing other beach stuff. As it started to get darker, everyone gathered around the fire to sing to God together and make a joyful noise. It was a special evening - everyone sang at the top of their lungs until well after dark. Jenetta took a few photos with our crummy point-and-shoot camera. Mostly, we just participated, so there was a lot more to see than these few images. But, they will give you a little taste of what we experienced.
