New Year's, Anniversary, and Birthday Party!

We had an awesome time tonight at Nikki and Robbie's house. We got together to celebrate New Year's, Nikki's birthday on the 29th and our anniversary on the 31st. It was a lot of fun to hang out and eat a bunch of yummy food together.

The highlight of the evening for me was the Settler's table. I had a lot of fun and won three bucks! The involvement of our friends in our lives is a way we can clearly see God's rich blessing poured out on us.

Photos of Priya

Jenetta spent some time this afternoon shooting some photos of Priya. She was in good spirits for most of the experience. She shot over 200 photos, and I picked a few of my favorites...

Good times with the cousins!

Tonight we went to Neighborhood church and then went to dinner with the cousins. After dinner, we had a few minutes to say goodbye to Jessica and Ashish and then we went to Jeff and Kara's to hang out and play some games.

As much as I love San Diego, I'm always kind of sad that we don't live up here or at least closer to family. I think we miss out on a lot by not having that option available to us. Brown clan - count your blessings!

Anyway, we had a really fun time and will miss them all. Here are a few photos...

A Great Evening!

We went to Thai food with Jim and Candace and got the red carpet treatment. Since the proprietor was aware that Jim writes the arts and entertainment section of the local paper, we kept getting more food on the house. Tea, appetizers, desserts - it all kept coming out to our table. It's nice to hang with the local celebrities. :)

After dinner, we went to Vintage wine bar in downtown Redding. If you get the chance, check it out. They have food, desserts, and of course, a great selection of wines. Jim played about 12 songs or so as part of a few hours of great music put together with a number of local singer/songwriters. The warmth and atmosphere of the whole environment at Vintage provided a cozy juxtaposition to the cold wind and the sleet falling outside. I wanted to hang out there all night.

It was great to have the chance to connect with Jim and Candace and to hear Jim's music that we've heard so much about. Hopefully we will get to hang out with them again soon. (Come on down when you are ready to go surfing, Jim!)

Christmas with the family

We spent our Christmas day over at the Meredith's playing games and eating and hanging out. Then we exchanged gifts with the Brown cousins.

Later in the day, we made our way back to Mom and Dad's for the gift exchange here.

I hope your Christmas celebrations are wonderful!

Christmas Eve 2007

We had an awesome Christmas Eve! We went to church in the afternoon, and then came home to watch the Chargers beat up on a Broncos team that is clearly focusing on golf and tropical vacations more than the end of their season. Then the Meredith's came over to Mom and Dad's for dinner and games. It is always so much fun playing games with Christie, TJ, and Holly. I wish we could do that more often.

But the best part about yesterday was singing Christmas songs at home after dinner. We sang songs with Ashish's parents, and his dad was brave enough to sing Silent Night all by himself in Gujarati as I accompanied him on the guitar. Then Ashish and his parents sang O Come All Ye Faithful together to us in Gujarati. It is amazing to think of people singing to our God all over this world in their own language. As our pastor said to us this week, Christmas is certainly for everyone!
