A Great Evening!
We went to Thai food with Jim and Candace and got the red carpet treatment. Since the proprietor was aware that Jim writes the arts and entertainment section of the local paper, we kept getting more food on the house. Tea, appetizers, desserts - it all kept coming out to our table. It's nice to hang with the local celebrities. :)
After dinner, we went to Vintage wine bar in downtown Redding. If you get the chance, check it out. They have food, desserts, and of course, a great selection of wines. Jim played about 12 songs or so as part of a few hours of great music put together with a number of local singer/songwriters. The warmth and atmosphere of the whole environment at Vintage provided a cozy juxtaposition to the cold wind and the sleet falling outside. I wanted to hang out there all night.
It was great to have the chance to connect with Jim and Candace and to hear Jim's music that we've heard so much about. Hopefully we will get to hang out with them again soon. (Come on down when you are ready to go surfing, Jim!)
